HOMESTEAD, Fla. – “Your bike is not a car, homie.”

That’s what 27-year-old Frank Sanchez told a young cyclist after speeding past him in his Dodge Charger late last month, according to Homestead police.

After the boy replied, “So what?”, Sanchez pulled a gun on the boy, police said.

Cops arrested Sanchez on two felony charges Tuesday.

According to a Homestead police arrest report, the incident happened just after 2:15 p.m. on April 28.

Police said Sanchez sped past the boy as he rode his bike in the area of Northwest 12th Avenue and 18th Street.

Authorities said Sanchez parked and then made the insult to the boy. The report doesn’t state whether the two knew each other, nor the boy’s age.

After the boy’s retort of “So what?”, police said Sanchez told him “I’ll show you what I got in my car,” went inside the Dodge, pulled out a gun and began chasing him with it, saying “come repeat what you said.”

Police said the victim made it home unharmed. Authorities said a neighbor’s surveillance video shows Sanchez’s vehicle following him.

Authorities said the victim’s mother told detectives the address of the Northwest 12th Avenue home where she’s seen the vehicle and authorities were able to tie the crime to Sanchez.

The arrest report states that authorities captured Sanchez after putting out a “be on the lookout” notice.

Sanchez, police said, admitted to following the boy in his muscle car but denied pointing a gun at him.

Authorities arrested him on a charge of aggravated assault with a firearm and child abuse causing no great bodily harm and took him to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.

A judge gave him a $5,000 bond on the aggravated assault charge, according to jail records. His bond on the child abuse charge is listed online as “to be set.”

He remained at TGK as of Wednesday afternoon.
